October 2019 Updates

Category : News and Updates

Everyone please welcome Onyx and Arabesque, our new male and our future queen who both arrived here from Moscow this morning!!

Onyx is a seal point Neva Masquerade and he comes from champion bloodlines with much variety in color, so we are very excited to see what colors of kittens he helps create!

Onyx (top row: as a kitten; bottom row: as an adult)

Arabesque is a little gray female with red splotches who looks like she could have been one of Mirra’s – just a little darker than we normally get from her. She is from the same cattery in Moscow, but unrelated to Onyx. She also comes from champion bloodlines and we look forward to seeing kittens from her sometime next Summer or Fall.

Arabesque, our future queen (5 months old)

They had a very long flight from Moscow to Tokyo to Dallas, and we are giving them a chance to relax in the relative calm and quiet of our bedroom before introducing them to the other cats in a couple of days.

Stay tuned… We will post updates as we have them. 😸😸😸

September 2019 Updates

Category : News and Updates

On September 15 we lost Gāb to kidney disease.

We’re still kind of in shock, but to make a long story short: we took him in to get some dental work done and were told they couldn’t do it because his kidneys were failing. We had him tested and it isn’t genetic, thank goodness. We knew this could happen someday because we know he didn’t necessarily have the best care when he was young— we just didn’t think it would happen so soon…

They gave us medication to help the symptoms and pain medication to keep him comfortable, and he got to be home with us and his girls for another week before crossing the rainbow bridge.

We’re happy that he’s no longer in pain, but we really will miss him terribly…

August 2019 Updates

Category : News and Updates

On August 9, 2019 we drove to Houston to pick up our newest queen, Aria Śnieżny Urwis – DOB: November 10, 2018. (We’ll just be calling her Aria, of course…)

She had a long, long flight from Poland, and was super happy to get some snuggles and head-butts when we got her in the car. She’s one of the sweetest cats we’ve ever met, and we can’t wait to see what kittens she brings us! (She’s only nine months old, so it’ll be at least a couple of months before she’s pregnant, but we’re excited anyway!)

July 2019 Updates

Category : News and Updates

After Mama was spayed last fall the other cats started being not very nice to her… We tried to wait it out to see if it might get better, but after almost a year it was just getting worse. She spent most of her time hiding, and it was obvious that she was depressed.

We had JUST started talking seriously about trying to find a new home for her when an angel walked through our door to see our kittens. While chatting with her we ended up telling her about poor Mama and she decided, on the spot, that she would rather take Mama than get the kittens she had come to place deposits on.

It was really hard to let her go, especially with so little warning, but after only a little over a month we’re convinced we made the right decision. We miss her every day, but Mama is SO happy in her new home! (And for once SHE is the youngest in the house…!)

June 2019 Updates

Category : News and Updates

Mirra gave birth to her Litter C on Friday, June 7, 2019! (All are reserved.) Five little fluffballs are now running all around and waiting for their new owners to select which kitten is going to which family (which will happen in about three weeks, when they are six weeks old). These pics are from the day they were born, but I’ll add newer ones as soon as I’m able…

Speaking of photos: We just did a photo shoot for Iriska’s Litter D!!! They’ll be heading to their new homes in just a couple of weeks: They’ll all be staying in Texas, and most of them aren’t going very far at all: Zen, Yoshi, Stormie, and Neo will all be living in Frisco! Misha is going just a bit farther (to Euless), and Sampson will be the farthest away (down in Austin).

Iriska’s next litter is expected in August and we anticipate Mirra’s in October. You can see how many deposits on each litter on our Available Kittens/Future Litters page, and you can place a deposit through our store when you’re ready.

(As always, if there aren’t enough kittens for the number of deposits, or if you change your mind or need to back out before the kittens are born, we will happily refund your deposit once we receive another to replace it , which never seems to take very long.)

February 2019 Updates

Category : News and Updates

Congrats to Mirra and Gāb!  Mirra gave birth to her second litter, Litter B, on January 22, 2019—two orange, one grey, and three brown/black, for a total of six fat and happy kittens!  This litter has been fully reserved, and we’re already receiving deposits on her next litter due probably around early June.

Iriska’s next litter should be due sometime in April and we already have five deposits on that litter.  She has had litters of six and seven, so there’s a chance it isn’t too late to get in on this litter, but no promises—no way for us to know for sure until they’re born…

(As always, if there aren’t enough kittens for the number of deposits, or if you change your mind or need to back out before the kittens are born, we will happily refund your deposit once we receive another to replace it , which never seems to take very long.)

Deposits can be paid on our store page: www.spellboundsiberiancats.com/store

Congrats to Iriska and Gāb!  Iriska gave birth to her third litter, Litter C, on November 21, 2018—three dark-gray, three light-gray, for a total of six fat and happy kittens!  This litter has already been reserved (by the end of September!), and we’re already receiving deposits on her next litter due probably around mid-March and on Mirra’s next litter which will be due in late January.  So if you’d like to make one of these handfuls of furriness part of your family, you should place your deposit soon to ensure your place in line!

If you miss your chance this time, Iriska’s next litter is due around the middle of November and will be ready for new homes around mid-January!!!  (We already have five deposits for that litter, but will still accept two more deposits in case this litter is as large as her last.

September 2018 Updates

Mirra Litter A

Mirra's first litter is here!!  SEVEN beautiful babies!!!

She handled the births like a pro, not really needing much help from me.  She got right to work cleaning and nursing, and didn't mind me hanging about, checking on her and the kittens and holding them.

I managed to get some quick iPhone pics of them and plan to get better ones with the good camera (hopefully) sometime before they're two weeks old.

Iriska Litter B

Iriska's Litter B are going to their new homes this week! Haru is going the farthest (all the way to Florida!), SoSo is going to Austin, and the others will be sticking a bit closer to home: Bolt will be in Frisco, Cosmo in Allen, Misha in Greenville, Milo in Rockwall, and Loki in Flower Mound.

It’s just so much faster and easier to post on Facebook….

I really do intend to post here as much as I can, but like the title of this post says, it really is just SO much faster and easier to post on Facebook that that’s what I usually end up doing…

You can find our posts on our business page, of course, but we’ve also fairly recently added a private group for our owners and future/potential owners to chat and share photos and videos.  It’s a fairly active group, so there’s plenty to see and read if you’re so inclined…
